Topic: Multiface with a long cable run

I had a FF800 and it worked beautifully over a pretty long cable run. I've now got a Multiface 1 and it's a no-go with a long cable run. However I may be able to get it to work by using a power supply along with it. My unit didn't come with a power supply so I'll have to find where to get one. Do you think if I used the power supply in conjunction with a long cable run it'll work?

The unit is somewhat getting power because the red LED comes on on the front of the unit, but it stays on. When I plug in a really short cable to it, it goes off and works as normal.

Re: Multiface with a long cable run

I posted this in the wrong section so feel free to move it.

I'm experiencing another problem now. Windows 7 Home Premium gets to the 'Starting Windows' screen but stays there and won't enter Windows after installing the PCI card. It'll boot sometimes after resetting it a few times but that's random.

Re: Multiface with a long cable run

If it doesn't work, external power won't likely help. The data transmission is the problem, not power.
