Topic: The new 2013 Mac Pro

Hi, I wanted to get some input on thoughts toward the preview of the new 2013 Mac Pro. We use internal HDSPe AES cards on our Mac Pros now, but with the new Mac Pro it looks like they are getting rid of PICe ports and replacing them with Thunderbolt ports (I could be wrong). Would Thunderbolt be the ideal for professional use? How would it compare to what we have right now?

Thanks in advance!

Thunderbolt-to-PCIe Chassis.  I believe Sonnet makes a few different varieties.  Should be just as good as internal PCIe (as long as you forget the added cost of needing such a unit for a Workstation/Desktop Computer in the first place ed: ).

cool

MADIface-XT+ARC / 3x HDSP MADI / ADI648
2x SSL Alphalink MADI AX
2x Multiface / 2x Digiface /2x ADI8

I see here, http://www.sonnettech.com/product/echoe … assis.html

Quality same? I'm always a bit cautious when it comes to multiple pieces of hardware.

Alright, Thanks.

Of course the industry will now need to build all black cylindrical chassis to match the new style. ;-)
