The subject has it..

I am connecting a multiface II to an expresscard adaptor on thinkpad t400 running Linux. It has worked reasonably well for years, but today, after pushing the firmware and working ok for a minute or so, the multiface II host light comes on and it is game over. 

I tested it on another laptop running windows XP, connected with the pcmcia adaptor. Holds the connection fine for a long time. 

No software has changed on the laptop, so it is either the expresscard itself or the plug on the laptop, right? I tried with several firewire leads inc. RME supplied one and two different PSUs for the multiface.

Next step - to test on another laptop with an expresscard slot, running windows probably.

If that doesn't work, it has to be the card, right??
