Topic: Adat inputs on M 32 DA

Hi all. I use the M32 DA in the studio but
I need a two channel input AD as well. I got to
Thinking if I could bypass having to attach another
interface to the computer that would be good.

I can't find much info on the Adat inputs
on the M 32 DA.

Can I connect say a adi 2 to those adat inputs
And recieve the audio through the M32 DA
and the Madi card?

Is that what the ADAT inputs are for?

My other option is to get some kind of
USB interface but as I said in trying
To avoid multiple drivers.

Thanks T

Re: Adat inputs on M 32 DA

The ADAT inputs on the M32 only feed the analog outputs.
You did not mention which audio card or interface you are currently using...

Re: Adat inputs on M 32 DA

I use the madi pcie and M32 DA. And have been
A happy camper for many years. Trouble
Is I don't need many inputs and I need to clock
From the M32

Thanks

Re: Adat inputs on M 32 DA

So you have a MADI PCIe and a M32 DA. M32 DA is DA only, it will not help running an AD, and the ADAT sockets don't provide an output signal. So you need an extra device for AD. This could be an AD with MADI connector, like the ADI 8 QSM (not cheap). Another solution would be to add a HDSPe AIO card. It uses the same driver, so HDSPe AIO and HDSPe MADI can be used simultaneously: the AIO card provides AD (and even more), MADI card and M3 DA provide DA. Still another solution would be to use a MADI-ADAT converter and to connect it with a simple AD with ADAT sockets.
That's a little bit a drawback of MADI: some basic solutions are not available for cheap money.
