Topic: totalmix help

I just got my new MADI Hdspe card with a SSL XLogic maid-sx, I am getting crazy "metal distortion/crackling" non stop when I play back any sound at all on my mac, I have everything routed through my patch bays, I have outputs 1-2 going into my monitor station and I have outputs 9-24 going into my dangerous 2bus and I have the 2bus outputs going out 23-24. I am not sure how to use total mix and I was wondering if this could be a software routing issue, when I have music playing I see music coming out 1-2 and 23-24 I thought it should only be coming out 23-24? any help would be great

Thanks

Re: totalmix help

The firmware version number is odd.... This is the latest one: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/fut_mac_dspe.zip

That said, what kind of converter are you using, and how are the devices set for sync? Is the signal ok at the phones output?

Re: totalmix help

I have the SSL Alpha Link SX, I have the alpha link set for internal sync, when I plug phones into madi card I get no sound in phones, I posted a pic of my routing on all my cables etc... I think it might be a routing issue internally?

thank you

Re: totalmix help

If the Alpha is set to internal, the Madi card will have to sync to it, otherwise the setup would be incorrect and that might already explain the issue.

Re: totalmix help

That fixed it, Once I set the clock mode to autosync and the pref sync ref to madi that got it working!!

Thank you very much
