Topic: MADI TP: Questions

Hi,

Saw this connector on all the new routers; can't find much good info on it and I'm wondering what's up:

What are MADI TP's technical specs?

How many channels can it carry, and at what rates?

Is it an IP transport? If so is it compatible with other IP formats? Like Dante? AES-X213?

Can / will it be used in products besides the routers?

How about on tiny, little, mega-channel interfaces!

Should I be holding my breath for the MADIface XTP or the ThunderFace TP? smile

Re: MADI TP: Questions

Hello,

It works the same as coax or optical MADI (channel counts, supported sample rates, etc.), except it works bi-directional on one Cat5 cable, and can carry power.

It is not IP based (no commodity routers will work here) and not compatible to Dante or other formats, sorry.

AES-X213

This is the standard we are working with on the new devices.
