Topic: HDSPe - Yamaha o2r - Orion 32

Trying to connect an HDSPe, a Yamaha o2r96 (via (1) MY16-MD64 interface card) and an Orion 32 in a ring fashion. I cannot get the Yamaha to pass through MADI streams above 16. There is no way to assign MADI channels on the o2r, so I assume the 16 channels are assigned to 1-16 in the MADI stream. The Orion 32 can pull whatever channels it wants from the MADI stream. I've tried sending tone out of my DAW (HDSPe) to MADI 17 and the Orion 32 will not see it.

This is how the ring looks

HDSPe Out ---> Yamaha  ---> Orion 32 ---> HDSPe In

Is it possible to connect these devices in a ring setup? Does anyone know if the Yamaha will pass the unused streams of MADI out to the Orion 32?

After much testing, configuring and re-configuring,  I just tried one short CAT5 patch cable on the MY16-MD64 MADI card for the Yamaha o2r96 to loop through to the expansion cards (but without having any expansion cards). This seems to pass the unused channels (17-64) of the MADI stream to the Orion and the HDSPe MADI card.

So if anyone has a MY16-MD64, maybe this will be helpful to you.
