Topic: Problem with a Multiface II analog output

Howdy folks,

I've got a pair of RME Multiface II's, and I've noticed on one of them that analog output 1 sounds very different from all the others, it's almost like some kind of broad bandpass filter is happening. A big drop in lows and highs, it's not subtle, I actually triple checked everything to make sure there wasn't some kind of eq in the path somewhere (there isn't).

Has anyone heard of this before?

I get the feeling it might be an output amp module on its way out, or some such thing. sad

I have tried emailing RME support, but got no reply.

Are you using the two units with separate interface cards? If so, does the issue stay with the card or the MF if you swap? If with the card, check whether you have the Emphasis option ticked there.

Thanks for the reply Daniel, I've fired off another email that distributer, so I'll chase them up.

In answer to your question, nope. I have one Multiface II for live/mobile stuff, and another for my home studio, and I use the expresscard34 to make 'em talk to the computer.

I have the same issue. output gain on two channels is lower than on others. what can it be?

MF-I or MF-II?  MF-I has individual gain jumpers inside the unit (like the ADI8's gain settings of -10/+4/Low Gain, but done via internal jumpers per channel, not via a front-panel button)...
