Topic: AVID Venue Profile to Madiface & Protools

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience connecting an Avid Venue / Profile console with the MADI option card to the Madiface portable i/o into a Macbook Pro and recording onto ProTools?
Would this work?

I can tell that this works perfect:

42 channel recording/playback/virtual soundcheck
Avid Venue with MADI option card - Macbook Pro - Sonnet PCI thunderbolt adapter - HDSPe MADI FX - LogicPro.

Not the same but I hope it helps.

Pro Tools will only see channels 1-32 of the MADIface, but otherwise it should work fine.

So... Even though theMADI spec is 64 channel at 48k it will only do 32?
Is there any way, short of a full blown PTs rig, to do a 48 track record?

This is a limitation of PT, not of the Madiface.
You could record in other software, e.g. Reaper.
