Topic: Chain of six ADI-2.

Hello everyone, I need your help.
I want a chain of 6 ADI-2 for to connect 6 headphones.

I've tried this connection:

HDSPe AES OUT------------>n.1 ADI-2 Coax IN

n.1 ADI-2 Coax OUT------------>n.2 ADI-2 Coax IN

but I  can only hear through the headphone connected to the n.1 ADI-2. The second unit doesn't sounds.

The firmware is 1.2

My questions:
- Can I  solve the problem with the 1.4 upgrade?
- Can six ADI-2 work perfectly in cascade? (with six headphones)
- Can I make the  firmware upgrade by myself? Is the eprom welded or with socket?

Did you route audio to the AES out channels 3&4, and do you see meter activity for these channels in the HDSP Mixer? I the ADI-2 set to COAX for input? Is the HDSPe AES output format set to Consumer? Does your AES/EBU breakout cable have TASCAM pinout for the DB-25?

Try plugging the 2nd ADI-2 into output 1/2, if it works then the problem is cable or HDSP Mixer related. If it doesn't the problem is in the ADI-2, either settings or hardware.

The first ADI2 works perfectly. HDSPe AES chennel out is 1-2. ADI2 set to coax, and works. ADI2 n.2 works.

So you just need to send some audio to the 2nd AES output pair.

I only want to use 1-2 AES  stereo channel output.

HDSPe out aes 1-2-->ADI-2 AES IN
                                  ADI-2 AES OUT-->ADI-2 number 2 AES-IN
                                                              ADI-2 number 2 AES-OUT----->ADI-2 number 3 AES-IN
                                                                                                              ADI-2 number 3 AES-OUT


etc....

for 6 ADI-2 and so connect to each one an headphone, so that each musician has their pair of headphone and their personal volume control.

6 RME ADI-2 and 6 pair of hadphones.

I want a chain. I only want to use one HDSPe AES stereo out.

Edit: just checked the latest manual. The v1.4 units will allow D-D mode, sending digital input to digital output.

- New function D-D. When the INPUT LEVEL button is pressed a fourth state 'LED Off' has
been added. Instead of the AD-converter signal the digital input signal is fed to the DA-converter and to the digital output. The LevelMeter displays the digital input data.

A workaround would be to use the rear analog outputs looped back to the analog inputs.
