Topic: Total Mix - using plugins

Hi everyone,  I'm glad to join this forum! I will be converting to RME UFX in January and I have been studying Total Mix via the pdf manual. (hard to do when you can't just "pull up" the interface! but I'm excited just the same.)
I'm unclear about two things so far:

Do some people use the Total Mix interface to do their mixing instead of their DAW host?

Can you import and use your plugins into Total Mix?

Thanks

No and no.

For mixing, DAWs have a lot more flexibility than Total Mix.  For example any DAW can automate levels and pans, whereas TM can't.  TM can be part of the mix process but you will almost certainly want to mostly use DAW controls.

TM can't use third party plugins.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to watch the videos Synthax put together for using TM.  Enjoy the UFX!

Thank you

Re: Total Mix - using plugins

Totalmix in full size, taking up most of the screen! So I have to close/minimize it every time I turn on the pc.
