Topic: Multiple MADI FX cards?

Ok, yes, I do realize how silly this question might sound.  I was just wondering if it was possible to run 2 MADI FX cards in the same system.  Yes, I know this seems like ridiculous overkill but I need 128 stem outputs and I'm trying to make the switch to 96K.  Unfortunately, I live in the film world where we actually do need that many outputs.  Machine specs are pretty fast.  2x Xeon 2687s (16 cores at 3.4 GHz), 128GB of RAM running Windows 8.1.

It would be great to have a solution where I could run 128 stem outs at 96K without having to use Pro Tools.  I refuse to give Avid any more of my money.

Re: Multiple MADI FX cards?

I will hopefully have time in a few days to test a setup with the MADI FX and a Madiface XT in my Mac Pro... In principle, I do think this should work. Hard drive performance may become a limiting factor.

Re: Multiple MADI FX cards?

Thanks Daniel.  I'm running an 8-drive SSD RAID array with an ATTO 608 RAID card so hard drive throughput is not an issue. And if the MADI FX is a PCIE 1x Lane like the previous HDSPe card I'm guessing PCI bandwidth shouldn't be an issue.  Let me know what you find out.

8-Drive SSD RAID Array and TWO MADI-FX's!!!  What a madman!  Makes my rig seem tame by comparison.  Impressive, sir.
