Topic: Should i have gone Madi.....

Hi, i have recently just bought a Madihdsp card for my PC ( running Cubase 5 ) and also the R109 Madi card for my Sony DMX R100.

My question is if i was to record say some audio tracks and using Vst synths as well,  would i be able to use the Sony to mix the levels and use the desks EQ on the audio and vst synths, what im getting at does Madi send and transmit audio channels only, or the vst channels as well to and from Cubase.

I have to admit i have jumped in sort of at the deep end here, im still trying to get my head around totalmix.

Have i thought right or wrong ?

MADI is a physical interface format, and has nothing to do with what you set up in Cubase to go in and out of the DAW. Set up the send/returns on any channels (which then can no longer be used as normal I/Os) and it will work.
