Topic: Driver 338 ASIO ch limit issue?

Hi

When I updated to v338 for my Madiface, I immediately began having the following error in Plogue Bidule.  This was the only host tested due to time constraints before I rolled back to 336 (pre ASIO 32ch limit check box), when the problem dissappeared.

With 338, loading in previous Bidule projects with a 64ch duplex ASIO madiface device generate:
portaudio error pa_openstream: -9999

On analysis of the Bidule log, Sebastian from Plogue said:
"Actually it seems that somehow the Hammerfall ASIO driver suddenly switches back to 32 ins + 32 outs when it's been 64 ins + 64 outs previously. "

ASIO 32ch limit was unchecked in the driver panel.

Try checking and then un-checking the 32-Channel Limit check box.  I thought I recalled reading that would fix this issue in some scenarios...

Yeah, the context is a machine running in a gallery installation so I can't rely on such work-arounds, but thanks for the suggestion.

It should "Stick" from what I gather.  More assumptions from me:  For some reason the driver update would install in 32-Channel mode as default, but the tick-box did not reflect this state.  Ticking and un-ticking the box should do the trick if this is the same issue I recall reading about...

Give it a shot - and then do a complete power-cycle and make sure the setting sticks.  Maybe then enable "Lock Registry" as a further precaution?

We have driver 3.39 to be released within the next days that fixes the '32 channel but not checked' problem. As you said it is no big thing as once toggled it works correctly.
