Topic: Madiface USB
greetings,
can I expect 32 channels of uncompressed 24/96 PCM output from Madiface USB to my SSL converters over an USB2 connection from my old iMac, with no glitches whatsoever?
thanks

How old is your old iMac...? Should normally work ok, but it will depend on the computer and the disk drive to a degree...

I have a 2008 Core Duo 2 iMac which I use for daily DAW work with no problems so far.
Before investing on 32 ch of MADI converters I need to make sure USB2 is good enough for high data transfer.
Please let me understand how so many channel (your site states up to 64x64) of uncompressed PCM can be streamed via MADI? is it compressed audio?
thanks
Not sure where you get the 64x64 figure - that might apply to internal mixer routing.
One MADI connection will carry up to 64 channels of LPCM, uncompressed.
