Topic: MADIface USB and UFX together

My only connection to MADI world at the moment is Octamic XTC.
This is why I might be askin stupid questions.

My studio setup is built around UFX which I feed via ADAT or analog XLR depending on the case.
I'd like to utilize XTC more efficiently ie. expand the audio traffic to both directions and use MADI.

I realize that I can easily have 16 inputs added to MADI stream by XTC and Octamic-D that I have
by connectin Octamic-D to ADAT in of the XTC and routing the ADAT in to the MADI stream.
I can use my UCX on the ADAT out of the XTC to have DA or phone amp purposes.

With this kind of scenario I need some device to receive MADI stream from the studios liveroom
and I came up with MADIface USB.
I browsed MADIface manual and if I understood correctly it shows as inputs in Cubase since it uses ASIO.

And finally to the question:
Can I use UFX and MADIface together side by side?
For example like this:
I feed my own mix to the control speakers via AES/EBU of the UFX and headphone monitor mixes to the liveroom are fed via MADIface USB to the musicians.

Re: MADIface USB and UFX together

Not under Windows, as they use their own ASIO drivers.  All the rest is correct. Regarding the OctaMic D: use AES D-sub, then the ADAT input of the XTC is not blocked and can be connected to the UFX.

Re: MADIface USB and UFX together

Thank you for the info.

In order to patch in the UFX to the MADI stream for control room listening feed and for example talkback mic preamp, I would need an ADAT to MADI converter also in the control room.

Maybe I'll hold my horses this time and wait for the Premium line new devices to come available.
I got a Premium line brochure yesterday and the devices seems very interesting.
