Topic: one more doubt (pcmcia & hdsp)

i just want to know if my card (RME Hammerfall CardBus PCMCIA Card) http://bimg1.mlstatic.com/rme-hammerfal … 7_4270.jpg will really fit and be compatible with my RME multiface here http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MzI3WDcwMA==/ … I/$_12.JPG. when advertised, it said: "RME HAMMERFALL HDSP MULTIFACE Audio / Midi I/O Box Interface". i'm confused now about the pcmcia/hdsp difference.

somebody can help me?

Of course it fits the Multiface I/O box. But does it fit into your computer? That one has a CardBus slot?

Re: one more doubt (pcmcia & hdsp)

i was a little bit confused with a lot of info in my hands.
it seems the laptop i'm buying has a PCMCIA slot. now im checking if type 1 or 2 (makes any difference?).
what do you think about that config to play with the multiface?

Re: one more doubt (pcmcia & hdsp)

This notebook has a CardBus slot, so is basically compatible. That does not mean that it will work without audio problems. Dell is quite famous for their lame BIOS development and the ignorance against audio related requirements (low DPC values etc), especially on older units like the above. So you will have to try yourself.

Re: one more doubt (pcmcia & hdsp)

All i can say is that my HDSP Digiface works perfectly with my Acer Extensa 5220 via the PCMCIA card.
It also has a Expresscard slot in which you can put a USB3 card for an external harddisk. I use it with an external SSD for multitrack recording.
