New Computer-Windows 7 or 8 OSX Mountain Lion or Mavericks?

Ive had fantastic luck with the RME Fireface 800 on Win XP.
Love XP, but my upgrade with UAD forces me to upgrade my computer.

Which OS's will perform like previous. Window 7 or 8.
OSX Mountain Lion or Mavericks?

Any help would be appreciated

I have been very happy with my UFX on both 64 bit windows 7 and 8.1

In terms of RME you can expect excellent drivers and software for both OS vendors, you only need to ensure, that the OS requirements of RME driver and software (Totalmix, Digicheck) are met.

Otherwise I fear it makes not much sense to start a thread in an RME forum to discuss PROS and CONS of these to OS.

Windows and Apple user will most likely recommend to you their favourite pet toy and experience shows, that such a discussion very easily heats up minds.

I would maybe ask in a recording forum like i.e. gearsluts and am pretty sure that you won't be the 1st who asked this.

If you were very satisfied with XP and do not know anything about the others, then you will have anyway a steep learning courve. XP was nice, at that time....
