Topic: Musicbee player settings for RME ASIO: Hardware mixing, 32 bit ?

Hi,

I am using Musicbee v2.3 as a Windows Audio player and have a question in regards to some player configuration options:

- use hardware mixing
- use 32 bit output

These options are not driver specific, but I would assume that
- the 1st option is not applicable for the RME ASIO driver
- the 2nd option might be waste of CPU time, as the Audio material is based on 44.1kHz/16bit

Or do you see any reason, why it should be/sound better, to convert the FLAC file to 32bit 1st and then send it to the audio device (in my case RME UFX).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me.

Hello Andreas.
I'm not have an UFX, but increasing of a bit depth is waste of your time: it doesn't affect to audio quality. I use HDSPe AIO card, some my VSTi in stand-alone mode have a 32-bit output (real-time playing) for better DA conversion and you don't need it if you listen to already recorded material.
Sorry for my English.

Best regards
