Topic: HDSPe RayDAT + Debian

Hello there!

I am searching for some good ADAT Multi-IO cards to install them at our universities lab. I like the HDSPe RayDAT, but I do not know if it will work under our debian stable installations.

Is the ALSA-Support for the HDSPe RayDAT working ok? Or should I choose other cards?

I would appreciate any information on what cards work reliably under linux.

Many thanks and regards,

Axel

Re: HDSPe RayDAT + Debian

Hello Axel,

I got the RayDat working under our custom-distro in our university which is based on Ubuntu. Everything worked fine out of the box.

What means custom-distro in this context, was this customization required to make the RME card work ?
What program do you use for recording audio, mixing, mastering ?

Hej,

our department has it's own Linux distribution. Atm I record 16 tracks w/ Ardour2. You have to install alsa-tools (the RayDat can be accessed via hdspmixer).
