I've got a MadiFace USB plugged into a Mac Mini with Audition 6 (all the latest drivers installed) for multi tracking live performance recordings. The only other sound interface on the computer is the built in sound interface that I'm not using. I have TotalMix disabled in the RME settings, but I've discovered that if I don't manually close the TotalMix program, Audition will randomly freeze up while recording. Freeze up might not be the best description - the tracks keep rolling, but the audio freezes on all the tracks. I lost the first 3 bands I was recording during a music festival due to this behavior. After I tried closing TotalMix before opening Audition it hasn't happened since.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Any better fixes than what I'm doing?

I have no need for TotalMix and would prefer to not have it start automatically when the Mac boots up. But it's not listed in the autostart settings on the Mac users settings and I can't find any info here or anywhere else about disabling it. Am I missing something?
