Topic: How long can the rackmount M3 screws be for the MF2 and Digiface?

I'm rackmounting my MF2 and my Digiface. I found appropriate M3 screws but they're a bit long so the question is:

How long can the screws be? -i.e.: will the screws hit a PCB or a component if too long? And if yes, what is the maximum length they can be?

I don't want to damage anything.

TIA.

PC1 = HDSPe PCIe: DF-ADI-8 DS / HDSPe PCIe: MF2
MBP = HDSPe Expresscard: MF1

Re: How long can the rackmount M3 screws be for the MF2 and Digiface?

So I'll just screw them in till I hit something, shall I?

MBP = HDSPe Expresscard: MF1

Since the thickness of your rackmount would also play a role here, too, I'm afraid I don't have an exact and universal figure at hand...
You might want to look at the Alva rackmounts, which come with suitable screws: http://www.alva-audio.de/en_products.ph … rackmounts

Thanks. The Alva website actually mentions "M3 x 5" so I better cut these screws down significantly... wink
