Topic: hdsp 9632 -not able to use latency under 512 for vsti

Hi!

Suddenly I'm not able to use my Hdsp 9632 under 512 samples when monitoring vsti's.
512 is fine, under gives more and more distortion.
I haven't really checked if audio-monitoring is affected the same way.

Drivers should be newest.
DAW is Reaper
OS: XP sp3

i have problems with 1024 samples, playback with 512 is'nt possible in great Arrangements, my drivers are the newest from August 2010

Seems like playback is affected the same way. I can play a loop with 256, under that, it's just distortion.
Before I had no problem running 64 samples.

Reflashed the card, and everything back to normal smile

Seems however that there are some strange things going on her, since I had driver-problems a couple of weeks ago:

Did you do a complete shutdown/cold boot, when these issues happen? If not try that. If you did, try memtest to see if your system is ok

No shutdown/cold boot when issue appeared. But, did cold boot after reflashing card, so could be that roll
Yes, I'll run a memtest. Thanks!

BTW: Does the firmware load into RAM?

No onto the card. But indeed could have been just the cold boot that fixed it. I have had that sometimes too, when the lower buffer settings would corrupt (by me by overloading the cpu) and only a reboot would fix it.

G-sun: what bios rev is the board running and where did you get the chipset/inf

BIOS         R2.04     1/27/2005  is the last bios, i did not see updated chipset drivers at aopen for the os, im going to look at intel again, might the issue be your
processor power. Im running X-1a with no errors and it takes a well setup system
with all the processor power you can toss at it, il look back later

The Bios is latest. I have:
Product :    AX4PER-GN
Version :    918AF10401
and the R1.05 is latest for that version.

and it reported:

I updated just the network-driver, as it was the only thing suggested by the utility.

Dandruff: thanks for the input !! g-sun i was hoping to get you system updated and performing the best it could be............... its going to be hard as intel is not supporting
many of their chipsets and yours is  tough build, many issues with that chipset.

in the futrue if other members would conside this motherboard to build on..
