Topic: Fireface 800 with adi-8qs

I have the opportunity to buy a used adi-8qs . Will it work well together with the fireface 800 via adat ? I know adi-8qs has top converters thats why i want to buy it . I could also think about a adi-8ds . Are the converters the qs and the ds the same ?

Must i use firewire 800 to make it work together with fireface 800 ? Or should i connect the other way ( fireface800->adi8"x"->pc? )


Or would you suggest an other connection ?

No FW800 needed, that is needed with 2 firefaces.
Connect to fireface through adat, use dual adat cables for higher sample rates (smux).
For best quality use ADI8 as master clock (sync through adat)

No. The QS has better specs and more features.
