Topic: FF400 + Radial Pro DI - correct connections for bass recording.

Hi, All!

I got Radial Pro DI for recording Bass DI along with miking the cabinet. http://www.radialeng.com/r2011/prodi.php

Everything seems simple but I hesitate about right connections. I plan to record passive basses with low output, this means that I need instrument level inputs. DI Box has a balanced output with 630 Ohms impedance. It's said in manual: "The instrument input operates servo-balanced, thus handles balanced signals correctly as well." As far as I understand I need to use this inputs for bass recording in instrument mode as they handle balanced signals even at instrumental level of sensitivity, right?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Koljunia,

According to the Radial Pro DI Manual the XLR Output is microphone level. Connect the Pro DI XLR Output to the Fireface 400 XLR Mic Input of either Channel 1 or 2 using a good quality microphone cable. Hit record & rock on :-)
