Topic: Sample rate problem

Hi,
I've been using my new ADI-2 DAC FS for a few days, it's connected via USB to my (always new) Mac Mini M2.
I'm currently using Foobar, but I've also tried other players. The problem that I cannot solve is that the RME does not read the correct sample rate of the various flacs, on the ADI-2 display, the format that is set in the Mac's Midi Audio remains fixed, and if I want to make it play at the format native I have to change it (in Midi) manually.
I must say that when I tried the trial version of JRiver, it worked correctly, except that due to my limitations in usage capacity, I had to uninstall it and went back to Foobar.
ADI-2 DAC is not detected in Foobar Devices, but it is seen as Default, I don't know if this is the cause.
I also installed the fut_madiface_mac driver.
Is there anything I can try to do?

I hope I explained myself because my English isn't that great.

Thank you
Roberto

Re: Sample rate problem

RME or the DAC has nothing to do with the player that does not change sample rate. There are players that do, as you already noticed. See also

Re: Sample rate problem

I understand: if I want to see the format change automatically, I have to decide to equip myself with software like JRiver or Audirvana.
I'll think about it, because when the DAC is connected to the streamer (Bryston) in my main audio system, I, naturally, have no problem reading the sample rate, while it only occurs when the RME works as the Mac Mini's DAC, in the desk station, where I can also set it and leave it fixed at 192 khz, or change it manually in case of more critical listening.

Thanks You Matthias

Re: Sample rate problem

Try this:
Install Madiface driver
Install Foobar ASIO component (64 bit now available) https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_asio
Select ASIO-Madiface as output device in foobar

Hi antagron,
am I wrong or that Foobar ASIO component is only for Windows?

Re: Sample rate problem

Yes, there is no ASIO on Mac.
