Topic: ProFS + FF800 Setup
I started this thread (https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=31361) a few years ago when I got my babyface FS and apparently I must've had it working back then...or at least I thought I did. I never really ended up using a lot of the IO so for the past couple years the FF800 has been off in the rack.
Lately I had a need for the extra IO and some hardware sends so I tried getting this back in place and *WOW* did I need a refresh on all things RME/TFX.
For those that might follow my footsteps, I think I finally wrapped my head around all this and have things working as I need them to. I have the FF800 hooked up via firewire for now but it is flashed and can act as a standalone interface and all I would miss is any additional routing I'd want to do and/or phantom power on the mic pres 7/8.

In TotalMix, the babyface is set to do nothing by default. If I look at the matrix it's blank.
The FF800 is set so that the analogs and adats match up (this was a huge piece I was missing and causing extra confusion). I had to plug things in carefully to ensure that everything lined up on the same number channel so it makes more sense when I'm only using TFX on the babyface.
Unfortunately I can't upload a pic here for my matrix view but I will also post this on the facebook forum in case anybody finds this useful.
