Hi

According to the manual

17.4 DSD Record
Via USB the SPDIF inputs can record not only PCM but also DSD (DoP).

I'm connected with Fireface400 via ADAT to the ADI-2 DAC FS and I'm trying to record DoP with VinylStudio witch support DoP
( in VinylStudio DSD64 (DoP) is selected ) and VinylStudio give this message

The incoming audio (PCM) does not match the setting in the DSD Input dropdown (DSD).  Please either:

a)    change the dropdown to match the DSD setting on your input device, or

b)    change the DSD setting on your input device to match the dropdown.

Then click Retry.

You may also need to set the recording level slider to maximum when making DSD recordings.

The Main Device State show the following

For DSD recording you need a DSD capable AD-converter like ADI-2 Pro or ADI-2/4 Pro SE.

I suggest to forget about DSD - the formats limitations (e.g. no native editing) are a pain in the a##.

For recording, use 96 kHz / 24 bit PCM, higher rates or resolutions don’t improve the audio quality any further.

A lot of my recording engineer colleagues like famous Steven Wilson admit that they don’t even hear any quality difference going from 48 kHz to 96 kHz.

To make this more clear: the DAC does not convert PCM to DSD. And the FF400 only sends out PCM data via SPDIF.

The line in the manual works when the source sends a DSD signal.
