Topic: Room EQ vs Loopback bug? Recorded audio passes through Room EQ

Hello everyone!
Happy UCX II user here but I just found out an issue with Room EQ and the Loopback function on the Main output.

Basically I usually use the loopback function to be able to record my screen and main audio output at the same time.
The problem is that the resulting audio will record also the Room EQ.

This means that the recorded audio, once played back will sound as if it was processed two times by the EQ: 1) inside the audio, 2) because the audio is going again through the Main output which has the Room EQ enabled.

Is there anything I can do to solve this issue or is this a bug/malfunction?

Really hope there's a solution to this. Ideally the Room EQ should be post-loopback, right?

Anyway, thanks for your help

Re: Room EQ vs Loopback bug? Recorded audio passes through Room EQ

Route the submix to another used output, record loopback'd signal from there without RoomEQ enabled on the output.

You can also use the function to mirror the submix of an output like e.g. Main Out.
Then you do not need to manually do changes on two outputs.
Then the mirrored port without RoomEQ gets the same submix "automagically".

Thanks for your answer!

So now I routed the PC audio to ADAT 1/2 outputs and enabled the loopback there. Now I can record the audio without the Room EQ of the Main output. Awesome!

Btw could you please explain me better the mirror function you mentioned? I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

Thanks a lot for the help

Search Manual for "mirror", you will get only a few hits, see e.g. chapter 27.3 wink
