Topic: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello all

I had 1 HDSP9652 already, bought last week another, works fine together, got the latest driver installed 8.083
now this weekend, bought nr. 3, first I thought it's working, but now I want the full 72 channels, the nr3 seems
not working correct, from this card only adat 1 i/o is working adat2 not at all and adat3 only input is working
did not have wordclock cabel connect on nr3 but light of wcin is on.
and there is no  red light on adat3 out.
strange, thought before that it was working, but I checked only adat1 in combination of the other 2.
would it be a hardware problem, in other words, nr 3 is broken? or could it be a software problem?

greetings

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

Please test card 3 independently, i.e. without the other two, to find out whether the hardware is ok...

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello support

I tested it direkt with the other 2 cards, and tried only adat1 with the other cards,
the wcin light was on, while nothing was connected.
later I connected wordcable aswell for sync., because first it was not sync.
strange, the new card turned out to be HSPD(1) and my nr 1 was HDSP(2) nr2 was HDSP(3)
thougt, was the heck, when its working, I patch differend.
so yesterday I tried to got the fully 72 channels, no adat2 , so thought of a driver problem, so installed 8.083 aswell
in nr3. still not working, so I used the FUT program, update normal and did the same again for the other 2.
and did a hardboot.
still no luck.
opened the computer and removed all.
installed only nr3, in slot1, computer found it with no problem.
checking the rear, no red light on adat3 out and wcin light is on. strange
but still no adat2 i/o and no adat3 out, adat 1 is fine and adat3 input is oke
so maybe hardware?
later installed the other 2.in slot2 and 3
computer found all.
but still no adat2 on, now HDSP(1), the latestHDSP.
so now I have ch 1 till 8, but no 9 till16, and 17 till 72 are working.
tomorrow recording and mixing of 3 stages, in total 68?70 channels
now I have to find a way to combine some channels in to a stereochannel.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

You use a wrong combination of main board and WC board. Rev 1.1 and 1.5 (1.6) are not compatible, each works only with the corresponding main board.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello mc

strange I bought the latest card as combination, mainboard and wcboard together.
according to the former owner, it worked ok for him.

so where can I check which mainboard and which wcboard I got?

greetings

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

Should be printed on the boards. Else, you can send me the serial numbers.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

My comment about rev 1.1 and 1.6 is valid for the DIGI9652 only, so does not apply to your cards. Your descriptions are a bit confusing, but seem to indicate a simple defect of one of the cards.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello MC and Daniel

So I think that my nr 3 card is defect, Bad luck!

I found another HDSPcard and would not make an other mistake or a mismatch

here are my 2 cards, who are working ok together
nr1 card: mainboard REV 1.6 serialnr.22649781
             expansion  REV 1.6 serialnr.22649436

nr2 card: mainboard REV 1.6 serialnr. 22392904
             expansion  REV 1.6 serialnr. 22392713

here are the details of the nr 3 card which I will buy next week
nr3 card : mainboard REV 1.5 serialnr. 22233354
              expansion REV 1.5 serialnr. 22234002

is this nr3 card ok to work together with my existing 2 cards?
this REV 1.5 is ok to work with REV 1.6?

I would like to get 3 cards to work together for a total of 72 channels.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

Memory comes back ;-)

Rev 1.3 of the HDSP 9652 need a hardware mod to boot up and work properly in newer computers (noted long time ago in this forum too). This is power supply related and might explain the effects that you see. You could send the card in to your local distributor for that update, should not be that expensive.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello MC

thanks for answer

so if i'm correct the old card (REV1.3) need a hardware mod
where in Holland can I deliver this card?
I'm located in the north of holland.

other question
I'm about to buy another card and are wondering if this is a correct card for a combination with my 2 existing cards

posted earlier my details of the 2 existing cards and the (to Buy ) nr 3 card.
this new card is a REV 1.5, so can this work proper with my 2x REV1.6 cards?

if it will work, I will buy this card this week, so to have a quick solution on the 72 channels.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

Hi,

if you purchased in the Netherlands, please contact Synthax Benelux (synthax.nl), or send it to

Audio AG
Am Pfanderling 60
D-85778 Haimhausen

As for that 1.5, that sound more like a Digi 9652 to me (non HDSP). Not sure if there is a 1.5 of the HDSP 96522 in the wild, I must admit. If it's a Digi, it won't work with the HDSP, because of different ASIO drivers.

Re: 3x HDSP9652 for 72 channels

hello daniel

I had posted the details of this new (3d) card earlier, with the serialnr's

is it possible to check these nr's to find out, if I'm dealing with a correct HDSP9652 card, or if it is a Digi9652.
so to know if this new card will function correct together with my other 2 cards?

here are the details of the nr 3 card which I would like to buy next week
nr3 card : mainboard REV 1.5 serialnr. 22233354
              expansion REV 1.5 serialnr. 22234002
according to the owner, it's a HDSP9652
