Topic: Routing line inputs to line outputs, is there any AD/DA conversion

Hi,
When I route a line input to a line output on Totalmix FX is there AD/DA conversion during this process ? or is it  pure analog signal routing ?

(example : input 1-2 routed to output 5-6  on totalmix fx  (no change on volume,pan,eq,reverb..etc.)

(I am planning to use Rme analog inputs & outputs as a regular patcbay)

If you meant "digital", the answer is yes...

Hi,

Routing Analog with AD/DA yes conversion
but if you mean TotalMix inside (loopback)
then no AD/DA involved

I have not studied the new TotalMix FX or how it works

Thanks for the replies.
So What I understand from your replies is :

1 ) Analog input -> AD -> Digital  -> DA -> Analog Output   (total mix routing)
2 ) Digital data of an output -->  digital data of an input (loopback)

Precisely.
