Topic: RME9632, questions regarding TotalMix

Hi!
I'm a proud owner of HDSp 9632 for a several years.
Only now I've started using TotalMix and I've got few questions regarding it.

1).  When I connect something to input I see the levels in hardware inputs. For example the guitar is connected through a mixer. Strumming it I hear the sound from my speakers, but the input is muted. It should be so? It's ZeroLatency technology engaged?
But when I arm the track for a record session in DAW I also hear the sound through my speakers...
Here is screenshot:

2). Question regarding the headphones output.
There is no "Ph(phones)" outputs in output section as it was example in docs. How their level could be adjusted separately with analog outputs? The Monitor Phones group haven't made any changes to it. Only main mixe's level made sense, but in such case the speakers level also is decreasing while I need a balance between speakers and phones.

3). As I understand in order to control the submix from a DAW you simply should route selected channel to 9632. For example selecting one of the represented out channels: STEREO ASIO HAMMERFALL DSP9632 ADAT1;3;5;7?

4). While, for example, playing music though a software player the hardware inputs meters shows the levels. As it is represented in screenshot. The inputs are muted, but if I raise the sleders the peeps occurs. It should be so ir something is wrong?

Thank you!

Re: RME9632, questions regarding TotalMix

Please download the latest driver 4.04 and the according update manual.

If Mute doesn't work then you have monitoring via your DAW software active.

Phones and Main outputs can not be set to different volumes with the mixer, they share the same signal and DAC.

Re: RME9632, questions regarding TotalMix

Hi!
Thank you for you answer.
The situation is the same:

When I took this screenshot the software mp3 player is playing the music.
If I raise the the IN's sliders the peeps will com out from the speakers.
Also when instrument is connected the IN's shows the levels and the signal plays through the speakers while the INs are muted.

I will describe my connections maybe it will help:
I'm using the mixer Mackie 402-VLZ3:
http://www.mackie.com/products/402vlz3/ … LZ3_OM.pdf
The RME's outputs is connected to mixer's tape inputs;
the RME's INs are connected to mixer's tape outs.
The mixer's main outs goes straight to speaker's amp.

Re: RME9632, questions regarding TotalMix

Oops, sorry. In screenshot they were not muted.
Muting and raising sliders doesn't make peeps playing mp3's and so on.

But connecting instruments to mixer's Line In(1 or 2nd channels) and playing them sends the played sound to speakers

Re: RME9632, questions regarding TotalMix

Any support, though?
My connection is described at page 7:
http://www.mackie.com/products/402vlz3/ … LZ3_OM.pdf

Making the connection in wrong and simple way:
RME's IN's to mixer's out's;
RME's OUT's straight to speakers
solves the problems...
