I am fairly new to recording and need some advice.

Right now I have a Firewire solo and use a Mackie 1202.  I have a few things going into the Mackie and then through the FireWire solo.

But its beyond old and I am looking to upgrade.

If I am reading correctly, I could take a Fireface 800 and just plug everything(2 items) into it, vs into the mixer and then the interface?

Since my setup has always been small, I dont foresee ever going over 1 or 2 connections at a time.  This would remove the mixer and clean up my setup a bit?
