Topic: Save dual EQ as preset

I am using ADI2-DAC to do room correction, and right now it is extremely difficult to manage preset when Dual EQ is enabled. If this is even possible or not.

- I cannot create EQ in EQ screen because everytime I enter and exit the visual EQ screen, it will turn Dual EQ off.
- I cannot assign eq Preset to left / right channel individually.
- I cannot save dual EQ as a preset.
- I can only create dual EQ in Parametric EQ screen.
- It is extreammly easy to accendtially turn off Dual EQ.

This is a wrong description of the behaviour. See below.

Such a feature does not exist and will not come. Most probably this is the reason for some confusion - you tried something that is not available.

Sure you can.

With Dual EQ On you get a whole menu page 'Parametric EQ L' and another one 'Parametric EQ R' in the second line of the I/O menu.

Please note that one can get easily confused if the top title is overlooked. Activating the Dual EQ in Line Out will not activate it for Phones or IEM Out.

Yes, but it makes a lot of sense this way. Let me explain:

- You activate Dual EQ by getting into the I/O menu (see above). In the graphical screen you now now longer have EQ Enable ON/OFF, but also L and R. You select which channel you want to edit and do so.

- After that you save the EQ as Preset. This is done by entering the EQ menu again, the current Preset is now 'Temp'. Do NOT turn encoder 2. Push encoder 2 one time to navigate down and enter the 'Save Preset to' line. Now turn encoder 2 to select a suitable preset slot.

To make this very easy to handle, loading a standard EQ will automaticall turn off Dual EQ in the Settings menu. Loading a Dual EQ Preset will automatically enable Dual EQ. Otherwise the whole thing would be much too cumbersome.

Note that after selecting a Preset with a Dual EQ content you can go into the Settings menu, turn off Dual EQ, and immediately going back to EQ will now show the Dual EQ Preset as normal one, with the content of the former left channel only. One needs to reload said Preset to get back the Dual EQ data. I don't know a way to handle this differently.

Hope this helps. Researching this topic we found one small issue that we will fix shortly, it might have added to the confusion.

New DSP version 21 includes a fix for Dual EQ. Please note that this one came to live only in one very specific procedure: if you select a standard EQ from the existing presets, then change into the I/O menu to change the state from Dual EQ Off to Dual EQ On, then return to the EQ menu - then the currently selected preset had not been Temp, as it should have been, and indeed is for any other parameter change. Upon saving to a Preset the Dual EQ state is missing. This has not been a serious problem because after changing the EQ to Dual the next thing to do is adjust the EQ Settings per channel - and then Temp was and is activated, with Dual EQ state stored.
