Topic: MIDI in CC and standalone mode

Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to control my UCX via MIDI while not in USB mode with my iPad. here is what I tried:

first check with USB connection: Sending Midi Ctl messages or the equivalent Mickie pb message from MaxMSP via external Midi interface to Midi in 1 of the UCX works fine in USB mode to control input Fader. for the fader message I first sent a message to select the right subgroup in the 3rd row, then the right msg to change the fader value. Changing setups via note message works also fine. Midi in standalone is checked.

with the same midi connection and message setup I switched to standalone (cc off)disconnecting USB. I found  changing setup via note msg still works but changing the Fadervalue did not work any more.

changing to CC mode and connecting the iPad none of my Midimessages seemed to work any more.

is this correct, or did I miss anything?

my goal is to control the faders and setup via MIDi or OSC switching while in CC mode running totalmix for iPad.

thanks Falk

ps:
here is a Maxpatch to send Midi messages it runs with Max Demo. Paste the text in an empty Max doc in edit mode...

Re: MIDI in CC and standalone mode

From the included online help:

1.1 Supported Hardware - Limitations

General Limitation: The MIDI I/O ports of the interfaces can not be used to remote control the unit as it is possible under Windows/Mac. Neither Mackie Control nor OSC will work.

Re: MIDI in CC and standalone mode

Hi Matthias,

thanks for pointing out I did not see that statement.
In standalone the faders should work, right? Here switching scenes does work, moving faders not
thanks
