Currently have an RME 9632 + the XLR breakout cable.

I and sending the signal from the card into a pair of JBL LSR308 monitors.

I would like to ask how I should best have the settings of the PCI card and the monitors for monitoring. On the back of the speakers there is a volume knob going up to 10 and a -10 dB/+4 dB sensitivity switch. In the RME software I can see the output settings can be at Hi-gain, +4dBu, -10dbV.

What is the best way to have these db settings for monitoring, if there is not an "ideal" setting could you recommend what I should read to learn about setting these up to work together.

Is it best to set the output level to hi-gain on the RME, to the JBL's with +4db and set up using calibration instructions such as this?
