Topic: Question on routing and realtime monitoring for ADI-2 Pro FS
Hi! I have the following case:
I have UFX+, which is my main audio interface. I am planning to buy RME ADI-2 Pro FS to have a pair of top-notch AD/DA channels, which I plan to connect to UFX+ via one of the digital connectors.
I am planning to use ADI-2 Pro FS for recording a clean guitar for further reamping, which should work the following way:
Guitar -> Preamp -> "In-1" of Adi-2 Pro FS --- then signal is split:
a) ADI's "In-1" routed to ADI's digital output -> UFX+ -> computer for recording the clean guitar
b) ADI's "In-1" routed to ADI's analog output -> reamp box -> amp -> cabinet
Chain #b should work like direct monitoring, without leaving the box and introducing any significant latency (a few samples like direct monitoring in UFX+ is fine).
Question: is it possible to do that?
I implemented the same thing with UFX+, and it works like a charm, but I am wondering whether I can achieve the same thing with Adi and route the input signal to two outputs (digital out, analog out) simultaneously.
Question 2:
Can ADI's analog output can use two sources simultaneously: analog In and digital In?
I need this to be able to avoid reconfiguring ADI's source when I switch from recording guitar to reamping guitar from prerecorded guitar DI track from my computer (it should be played from DAW through UFX+, which sends the digital signal to ADI).
The second case is also easily implementable on UFX+, but wondering whether it is implementable if we bring ADI into the picture.
As a matter of fact, both cases are solvable if ADI allows multi-source/multi-output internal routing the same way as UFX+ does through TotalMix. I apologize if the answer is in the manual, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks!
