Topic: RME Fireface UC with TotalMixFX bug: 100% volume 100% left suddently

Hello,

(i'm french sorry for my english)
I'm new here ! I bought a Fireface UC like 2 years ago and never used it except to listen sound from my computer via usb (never plugged a mic on it by exemple). When I listen music on my computer or any random internet source (Yt or streaming), sometimes, it suddently goes 100% panned on the left with 100% volume which is very scary because it's very loud! It happens more and more often theses days I don't know why. Everything is updated...
I'm on win7 64bit, i7 4790k 16go ram ddr3, ga-h97m-hd3, nvidia gtx970 4go, yamaha hs5 x2 + hs10w
All the wires are stock wires.

Please help me !

Hi Pierre,

Sorry to hear about this. Does it happen while there is MIDI activity from a keyboard or controller? TotalMix FX could be reacting to MIDI CC data. Please check TotalMix FX menu: Options > Enable MIDI Control should be OFF.

"Enable MIDI Control" is OFF. Also, I have no midi controler plugged to my computer
It comes from nowhere !

What is the driver version and firmware (hardware) revision shown in the Fireface USB settings app?

Not in Totalmix, please check the Fireface USB Settings app as I directed. But TotalMix v1.43 is old and outdated.

It is part of the driver, so perform a driver update.

I tried to update the driver from rme website, it didn't worked. I'm ok with updating driver I'm doing it for all the components and softwares of my computer.

Whats the filename of the driver ? driver_usb_win_1168.zip ?
And what exactly didn't work ?

I didn't found driver_usb_win_1168.zip
I set up the driver, it told me to restart totalmix fx, then nothing happened after the restart. Same version.
Where can i find totalmix fx driver update ? Thx

Hello!

It looks like internal loopback is turned on?
Can you perform a Reset mix on TotalMixFX?
It's under Options -> Reset Mix -> Total Reset

And could you, also, post a screenshot of Matrix View?

When the middle row meters are showing only left side, that comes from the computer playback and not the Fireface UC. The middle row shows the signals coming into your UC via USB connection. So this looks like a problem with the software source.
