Topic: Mysterious Echo on RME FF802 - Mac OSX Catalina

When I playback any audio file using Cubase/Wavelab/Anytune, etc. sporadically I get these random echos - the audio seems to pause while echoing of the stereo output
analogs 1/2 for approx 1-2 seconds. It's very frustrating and usually means I have to switch to my other interface (Focusrite Clarett 8PreX) which seems to have no problem. I have no effects enabled in Totalmix and it doesn't happen in the same spot when I replay.
I have the latest driver/firmware installed in the FF802.
I have been having this for several months now adn I can't figure out why...

Can someone help???

No I haven't. It is directly connected to the port on my Mac Pro (not through a hub). I'll try that today and see what happens.

Well it has been doing it again with a different USB port - many times...

I've quit Totalmix to see if that is the problem. For some reason, I thought Totalmix had to be running whenever you use the interface...
Anyway, some far it's working fine. It'll take some time to be sure.
