Topic: Sync Raydat with HDSP 9652

Hi,

I have a Raydat (PCIe) and a HDSP9652 (PCI) card.
I always used both cards in 2 different pc, now i would like to use the in one pc!

In order to sync everything, i used to sync the HDSP9652 Word clock with the WCM attached to the Raydat.
Unfortunately i dont have any more slots available on my pc to bring the WCM out of the pc box, which i would connect anyway over BNC cable to the HDSP9652

So would'nt it be easier to sync both cards internally and avoid unnecessary cables!!!

According to the manuals on the Raydat the onboard connector X400 is labeled as Sync IN
On the other hand the HDSP9652 has a build in Word clock in and out to sync with to external equipment and the onboard connector ST7 is used to synchronize AEB4-I cards (sync out ?).

So my question connecting the ST7 connector from HDSP9652 to my Raydat Sync in (x400) and setting the HDSP9652 as master will make it work and give me access to 56 mono in and 56 mono output channels.

That would be wonderfull.
Best regards

Yes, that might work. ST7 indeed provides word clock.

Re: Sync Raydat with HDSP 9652

Hi MC,

Thanks a lot for your prompt feedback.
It seams to work but for the moment i cant hear anything.

I think there might be settings which are not correctly set.
Also the settings layout menu from the HDSP9652 is different from the manual.

Could you please point me which are the latest drivers and firmware, i need.
First of all (my apologies) i work on Win XP and my HDSP 9652 has rev1.6 and the Raydat has rev1.2

Settings HDSP9652 master, Single speed and Raydat internal with single speed, nothing set in the DDS menu (since only if Raydat is master)
Jumper x105 not set to terminate and only a terminator resister at the last AD/DA!

Best regards
Chris

Re: Sync Raydat with HDSP 9652

RayDAT is on 16:

HDSP9652 is on 107:

Current driver is 4.30. Not sure this one can be installed under Windows XP, we don't test that anymore. Just try:

Re: Sync Raydat with HDSP 9652

Hi MC,

Thanks a lot for helping me out.

I updated both card firmware successfully.
So it seams to work although, i suspect my AD/DA converters to have a problem.
Which made it impossible for me now to test all channels simultaneously.

One more question, apparently i have the driver version 3.24 from 05/05/2011
Is there any more up to date version i could use to run under windows XP, the provided driver couldn't be installed.

Best regards
Chris

Re: Sync Raydat with HDSP 9652

I just installed this one under XP:

And now that I installed Service Pack 3 for XP plus a hundred final security updates even the latest driver 4.30 (which uses SHA-2 certificates) can be installed and used with Windows XP smile
