Topic: Windows 10 issues setting RME UFX II (recognized) as sound I/O device
Hi RME forum!
I recently switched from a Mac OSX system to Windows 10, and the switch has been rather rough, and I seem to have found some issues beyond what is detailed here: https://www.rme-usa.com/installation-guide.html
My computer is recognizing my UFX II, says it is up to date and working correctly, but the computer does not allow me to select the UFX II as my sound input/output device from the available drop-down menus in sound preferences.
----
Details:
Computer -- HP Spectre 530x 15"
OS -- Windows 10 home
I've installed, checked, uninstalled, and reinstalled every driver that I can think of, including performing multiple system restarts.
When I connect the UFX II to the computer, Totalmix Fx opens, and the computer recognizes the UFX II as a "sound device"
UFX II is listed on the "Bluetooth and other devices" page in Windows 10.
UFX II is also appearing under "devices and printers" (control panel --> hardware and sound --> devices and printers)
When I click on UFX II, its properties show: "driver date -- 25/nov/2020" "driver version -- 0.9.734.0", and its status is "this device is working properly"
So...my computer is definitely recognizing the interface! I just can't get it to appear in "sound settings" that I can select it as my system's input/output device.
Please advise! I'm new to Windows... trying to learn my way around that I can troubleshoot such issues myself.
I apologize in advance if a solution to this has been detailed. If there is such a thing, I am trying my best to find it!
As I am now into my 2nd day and 5th hour of troubleshooting this, and as I am failing to come up with new ideas of what to try, I felt it was time to SOS and ask for this forum's assistance.
Warmly,
echo
