There is a little free software called Midi-Monitor.
It does write down every incoming Midi message, try it out.

Re: FF400 & apple M1 big sur no midi

thank you very much for replying. the problem is that the ports of the FF are not recognized by my M1 mbp so monitoring incoming midi is cant be done, FWIW i checked and the midi device file is installed in the ~/library/audio/ path but is still not recognized.

Re: FF400 & apple M1 big sur no midi

The MIDI driver definitely works on M1. This looks like the usual issue with Macs - Audio MIDI Setup failing to show the MIDI ports. Helping might:

- Select the Default configuration or  a new one

- Delete alle MIDI devices and start a search to refresh the view

- Make the window full screen, the new MIDI device might be out of sight

@MC thanks for that, midi just appeared out of nowhere at some point(possibly 2 days and 2 fresh restarts later) and all is working well.

Nice your FF400 is running on a MBP M1
How did you connect? Which adapters did you use?
Thinking to get a Mac mini M1...
