Topic: OSC To Two different TM windows

I run a system that includes an original UFX and a Madiface USB where Madiface is main interface and UFX is IO expansion via Adat and ADI-648. While I don’t send audio signals over USB to UFX I do have it connected to get Totalmix window control.

I use an old iPhone running Lemur to simply trigger Talkback button in UFX TM window and I wish to send 2 other commands to Madiface TM window to control Dim and Mono. I could not make it happen even though it appears Lemur is able to send to different port numbers per button and I had Lemur addressing the 2 different port numbers.

Is there anything about Totalmix FX architecture that might stop this from working?

Kind regards

Re: OSC To Two different TM windows

I haven't used Totalmix with more than one interface to know for sure but there is an old thread where MC suggested it could be done..

In the upper right list of interfaces select one, then use the F3 - OSC dialog to type in the correct values. After that go to the upper right again, change to the other interface, open the F3 - OSC dialog and type in the correct (different) values. That way it should work and allows to use different settings for the interfaces.

what I would try for testing purposes is first only have the UFX connected to the computer and enable two OSC clients and confirm you have communication from Lemur to UFX on two separate ports.. if that works then you know your connection with port numbers and IPs are setup properly.. then just select each interface as mentioned from MC old post I guess ?

Re: OSC To Two different TM windows

Thanks for your reply ebulb.

So I've just had more time to try again with this and I have got it to work now:-)

In the end my initial error was in Lemur Editor and how I was assigning buttons to port numbers. Initially I was trying to assign port numbers for buttons in the Mapping section of Lemur editor and this was not working. Once I selected the object in the project browser and then selected the Action function and edited port output in the Script section it worked straight away.

In the two Totalmix windows it was simply a matter of assigning different active OSC ports for each of the two open TM windows pointing to the two hardware devices.

Kind regards
