Topic: Routing problem AN 1 to PH 11-12

Hello everyone,

I can't find the answer on YouTube or on this forum.

I'm excited! I just got a RME FF 802. I have a MacBookPro running Catalina 10.15.7

I went through some problems having the interface recognized by the OS. But all is solved now. It was a Security Setting to perform within 30 minutes not mentioned either in the Manual or RME's website.

The Problem
----------
I can now hear a YouTube video on my computer in my headphones (plugged in CH 11-12 in the RME FF 802).
I can also see the input from my Mic AN 1 and in the Main in TotalMix. But I don't see any movement on my Software Playback and my Hardward Outputs, even if I raise faders' levels. Therefore I can't hear my voice in the headphones. I wish I could upload a screenshot to this forum.

It might be very simple to solve but, can't find anything on the topic.

Thank you to those who take the time.

Re: Routing problem AN 1 to PH 11-12

Please upload the screenshot to a server Dropbox or something like that and provide the link.

I assume that the main out is assigned to headphones, as you say you can hear the youtube sound.

Click on the main-out to highlight it.
It is then activated.
Pull the fader of AN1 up or doubleclick the fader.
The voice over your mic should be in your headphone.

Re: Routing problem AN 1 to PH 11-12

Is it possible the Trim is activated in the AN1 ? It looks like.

I would perform a total reset and do a proper routing and assigning of the main from scratch.

Menu Options / Reset Mix / total Reset.

It is certainly only a small thing. But there is no way around familiarizing yourself with the operating concept of TotalMix FX.
The best way to get started, in my opinion, is via the RME video tutorials, because they are very to the point.
Without unnecessary blah blah they get to the point very quickly, so you don't lose any time here and get a complete overview of all important TM FX control functions in a short time.

After that you can see if my step by step guide in my blogs helps you.

And you shouldn't hesitate to take a look at the RME manual, once you know certain basics it is also easier to understand.
The manuals are very structured, important information 1st with a special section for installation under Windows and Apple:

Thank you for your time!

I figured out to make everything work.

You have been helpful. It was the Trim and other stuff.

Happy about RME's product! It sounds great!
