Topic: FF800 Driver doesn't load in Big Sur
Hello all,
I have updated my intel iMac from Mojave to Big Sur, downloaded the 3.40 driver from RME's web site and it simply won't load no matter what. In System preferences and under "Security and Privacy" I have clicked on "allow" RME and after a reboot the driver just won't load (although the Fireface settings icon is present in the Apps folder).
Next thing I tried is to boot into Internet Recovery Mode (which is the only recovery mode I was able to boot into no matter what key combo I press) and unfortunately there isn't any option to "allow user management of kernel extensions".
Next thing I tried is to run this command in a Terminal window:
sudo spctl --master-disable
and the only thing that happened is that the "anywhere" option appeared in the "Security and Privacy" window but other than that it had no effect on loading the Fireface 800 driver.
Can you please help? This is so frustrating.
Thanks.
