Topic: Fireface 400 IS NOT recognized by the system!!!

Hey Guys,

I have a new Notebook(Dell Latitude 5520) and I tried  to connect my  RME Fireface 400 to the Thunderbolt 3 ports by using some adapters without success.

This is the connection:

Dell Latitude 5520
1. Apple  Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 1/2 Adapter
2. Apple  Thunderbolt 1/2 to Firewire 800 Adapter
3. Firewire 800 to 400 cable
Fireface 400

This is the Problem:

When I start my Notebook, which is connected to the Fireface, the fireface is not recognized by the system after booting Win 10.

But when i disconnect the connection on the interface side and reconnect the Firewire 400 plug while the Notebook is running (Hotplug), for  1 second the Interface is highlighted.
After that my notebook crashed down every time and the dell error screen appears showing the following error message:

Standstill code:            System_Thread_Exception_not_handled
Cause of Failure:    Tbt.drv.sys

Thank you!

You will not like my answer, but as a long-time Dell laptop user I bet that this brand new TB4 model will need about 1 year until everything works as expected. Hoping for BIOS and TB driver updates is all you can do...
