Topic: Sonnet Echo 11 Thunderbolt 4 and 2021 MacBook Pro causing aliasing

I wanted to see if anyone else has purchased this combo. The new Echo 11 Thunderbolt 4 hub is extremely unreliable. Devices and displays are not waking on connection or reboot, and specifically my UFX II has grating aliasing static on all audio recorded through the hub. Direct into the MacBook Pro it sounds as it should. Does anyone have a recommendation for a thunderbolt 4 hub that will work properly? It seems there are only two/three designs going around and the Sonnet version of this hub looked the best as it has a solid metal enclosure to sink heat.

OWC has not given me any problems.

I don't have that hub, so dunno.

But there are a number of weird connection issues with Macos for people using multiple monitors.

Like not being able to save documents, some apps or even hardware not waking after sleep.

Dunno when this started, but it's been there for a while. It's being worked upon as we speak.

Could your problem with this hub be related?

Yes I just picked up the OWC Thunderbolt 4 hub with 3 downstream channels and a single USB port and it works perfectly.
