Topic: ASIO vs WASAPI

I have a Babyface PRO FS and record using SONAR. I have an XLR cable from my guitar amp out, going in to AN1. I see the signal hitting hitting the interface, I can hear it through my DAW speakers.

When I set the driver mode to WASAPI (Shared) my DAW doesn't see the signal. regardless of which input I select on the audio channel. If I switch to ASIO, i get a signal.

If I plug my guitar in to AN3 with a 1/4" cable, WASAPI works fine.

Am I losing anything by using ASIO, and if so, what should I look for the get WASAPI working on AN1?

It’s asio you should be using not wasapi anyway. There is a setting for how many wdm channels you want to use. It may be set to zero. Check out the manual.
