Topic: Moving adi-2 dac fs from desktop to main system.
Hi there,
I am moving my DAC from my desktop to my main system. I will be using the EQ for the first time with settings from HomeAudioFidelity based on measurements taken in the room. I will then be connecting a CD player and a raspberry pi running ropiee (for roon) and so both sources will benefit from the EQ.
I am unsure how to connect the DAC to my Musical Fidelity M6si amplifier, a dual mono Integrated, to get the best quality sound possible.
In terms of set-up, I think I have two choices. 1. I could set the DAC to 0db and use the external amps volume control connecting the DAC to the amp via xlr. 2. I also think I could set the amp into HT or home theatre mode, and I could connect the DAC to the HT phono input, this input is unaffected by the volume control on the amp according to the manual. In this second scenario, I could still use auto ref and control volume on the DAC but I lose the XLR connection.
Which of these two scenarios is peferable? Is there anything else i should consider? Thank you for reading!
