Topic: Problem with Fireface 800

I bought a used FF800. Connected on a computer with win10. Installed the latest drivers and flash. The device does not have a signal at the 1,7,8 channel input that is on the front panel. The signal goes to the rest. What could be the reason, other than I bought a faulty device?

Re: Problem with Fireface 800

What is the signal you have connected ? A keyboard ?
What cable do you use ?
Do you see signals in Totalmix when you use other inputs ?

It is possible the device uses an old configuration of Totalmix and those Inputs are not routed to the headphone.
A Total Reset of Totalmix will help you out then.
Totalmix menu Options / Reset Options / Total Reset.
From there you have to do routing the input signals to the headphone or the speakers.
Youtube has a few very good videos to learn the basics of Totalmix.

Re: Problem with Fireface 800

I used a dynamic microphone with a cable xlr- xlr. and a jack-to-jack cable. The signal goes to the device itself. There is an indication. It does not go to totalmix. From other inputs 9,10 on the front panel and all analog 1-8 on the rear panel, the signal goes to the total mix. I also have a st lab f-301 card inserted into my computer. cable ff400 to ff800.

Re: Problem with Fireface 800

As a firewire, I use a firewire pcie card stlab f-301. But in this card, I did not connect power to the bus of the computer's power supply yet. Do I need to connect?

Re: Problem with Fireface 800

I think I have a solution for you, no need to contact support.

I checked the FF800 manual.
https://www.rme-audio.de/downloads/fface800_d.pdf
https://www.rme-audio.de/downloads/fface800_e.pdf

See page 16.

You must enable ports 1, 7, and 8 in the driver settings for either the front, the back, or both.

You're welcome :-) And welcome to the RME user forum. If you have any further question or issues, then ask.

I'm not sure, whether you are familiar with TotalMix FX and routing, it's easy if you know only a few basics.

Useful information you will find here: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=34394
